A Novel of the City of Witches

The City of Witches is a novel set in Prague in 1692. It depicts the story of two witches, a seamstress Anna and a healer Margarita. Anna is madly in love with Jan, but he is married to Margarita. Margarita is in love with Anna but also feels for the sorcerer Marsilio. The book is broken into three sections. In the first instalment, Anna and Margarita attempt to hide their secrets from Jan and Marsilio. Anna and Margarita are forced to depart Prague in the second part because the Inquisition is hunting them. They flee to the Netherlands, but the Inquisition also follows them there. Anna and Margarita return to Prague to battle the Inquisition in the third and final instalment.
